Biting lips as teeth move

Does anyone else have problems biting their lip/cheek as they notice their teeth moving? I switched to a new aligner two days ago, and bit my lip about 5 or 6 times tonight at dinner. I am thinking its because my lips aren't use to the new position of my teeth. Has anyone else noticed this after changing to a new aligner? I didnt notice it as much with previous aligners, but the newest one seems to really be moving my front teeth.

Thanks in advance for all replies!

I have bitten the sides of my tongue a couple of times...and I notice with the past couple of trays, I'm lisping when I take the trays out! Ughh!!

I didn't even have too much a lisping problem when I first started this, so I'm a little surprised at this new development, but, like you, I was thinking maybe it was because these trays are really working on the front teeth.

I haven't had the lip biting, but I have had issues with teeth colliding while I'm eating for a couple of the aligners. Must just be because teeth are meeting where I'm not used to it.

Thanks for the heads up - I shall be careful of the lips!

The issue may be related to the tooth movement, but also because the trays are removed when you eat. The distance your upper and lower jaws have to close is different with the aligners in compared to when you remove them. The thickness of the aligners against your lips may also feel different.

It is something that you should get used to, but it isn't an uncommon experience. Good luck!
