I went in for a consult for invisaligns the other day. My Dentist said that I would only have to have them for 20 weeks??? I have a pretty large gap between my front teeth, but otherwise most are straight. Is it possible that I only need them for 20 weeks?

lol yes totally possible, congrats! I only have 10 aligners myself. I started in September and slated to be through in January. One of the hygienist commented on a visit that it was the fewest number she's seen for someone. As such, I am extra diligent in keeping the trays in so the teeth will move; I really don't want to have to extend my treatment with refinements. Anyway, consider yourself fortunate and wear your trays for atleast 22 hours per day. All the best!

Of course it's possible. Even if you will need refinements it will still be a really short treatment. Good luck

20 weeks works out to 10 aligners. There are some malocclusions that fit into this category, but very few. A good barometer of how long Invisalign treatment should take is to think about how long your treatment might take with traditional braces.
If you have any concerns, please go and seek a few alternative opinions. Good luck!
