I got my impressions done just over 6 weeks ago for my refinements and my ortho is still waiting for them to arrive from invisalign, im based in the UK btw.

Is this standard? Cant remember how long it took for my initial trays to come after my impressions but 6 + weeks seems a long time.

I had my impressions done yesterday for my refinements, and ortho told me to book my next appointment first week in January, so going back on the 5th of Jan, and they should be ready then... Had all the attachments removed and it feels soooo good, sadly they will have to go back on with new sets of trays...My ortho recons it will be about 5 sets of refinement trays.
I've started my Invisalign journey in January this year, with 17U/21L and the results are amazing so far, just need a little bit more. Can't believe that in few more months will have beautiful teeth that i always wanted. It's been well worth it.
One negative thing that all this is so adictive: i kleep looking at the mirror trying to find more and more defects to correct ... :-*
Good luck to everybody!! Arm yourselves with lots of courage and patience and it will be worth it at the end, just don't give up...

Hi.

I am also based in the UK. Just checked my blog for my initial timeline to see how quickly the aligners came.

Impressions and xrays: 8th June
Clincheck video arrived: 16th June.
I delayed things by a few days while I asked questions, sorted out finance etc.
Paid deposit and my dentist ordered aligners on 22nd June.
In the dentist chair having them fitted: 13th July.

So, from impressions to fitting for me was 5 weeks in total.

Do you know how long ago your aligners were actually ordered? Since your impressions had to be shipped to the US, then Invisalign had to produce your treatment plan and send it to your ortho for approval/adjustments if necessary, then when the ortho gives the goahead they would make them and ship them.

Perhaps the bad weather here has held them up somewhere?

I'm in the US. My first aligners took almost 8 weeks around this time of the year (November - early December). The slow delivery was due to the US holidays - Thanksgiving in late November and the number of items being shipped before Christmas. I started contacting the orthodontist office, who in turn contacted Invisalign to get shipping status.

Hi my ortho is in Stockport and took 3 months!!! He said Invisalign were trying to give me another 22 alligners and he badgered them down to 10.

I'm now on tray 7 and will go into traditional braces when finished :(

Remember that your doctor is in total control of where your teeth move, and how many aligners you have. There's no "badgering". When reviewing your case, your doctor simply tells the tech, "Please complete treatment in 10 aligners" and they will do it. Keep in mind that the techs have no idea whether 10 aligners is to few or too many. They are simply there to follow instructions.

Depending on the number of revisions, it isn't uncommon that many offices will book patients anywhere from 4-8 weeks away to start aligners, for refinement, or mid-course correction.

Just curious what your teeth are 'in' while you're waiting for the refinements? I'll be getting impressions for them next month, and wondering if you wear your last aligner for 6 weeks? I know mine will get very funky if that's the case...
