I'm on my second week of invisalign treatment and am wondering if wearing the aligners constantly might be physically harmful.
For example, my eye doctor told me to take my contacts out at night because my eyes need to get oxygen.
Does wearing invsalign prevent part of my gums from getting oxygen (I realize that teeth are just bones so don't need oxygen).
Also, is there any data re chemicals from the plastic leaching through the gums into the bloodstream? Or am I just being paranoid?
Dumb question about Invisalign

Did your dentist tell you to take your invisalign out at night so your teeth can breath? I hope not.
On your second question about data on chemicals oozing from the aligners into your gums...yes you are just being paranoid.
It sounds to me like you are obsessing with your teeth and the aligners being used to straighten them. This is understandable but remember more than likely these things will be in your mouth for a good while...if you keep obsessing over them you will drive yourself mad.
Try and focus in on the positives of your treatment and just let the aligners do their job without worrying so much about them.

I went to my dentist yesterday for my first checkup since starting invisalign. He said "and you're using the ACT rinse, right?". My ortho hadn't told me to do so but the dentist highly recommended using the ACT rinse to boost flouride on the teeth since the teeth don't get their normal amount of saliva rinsing.
