How often do you change trays

I am now on my first day of my sixth tray - ohhh what pain! And what a headache I have!!! I really think I can actually feel my teeth move. OUCH!
Question - how often do you' all change your trays? My doctor has me switch trays every 3 weeks. I think I can change them every 2 weeks. (they are comfortable after 1 week)
I mentioned every 2 weeks to my doctor and he said... for now, lets do every 3 weeks.
Just wondering how often everyone else changes>??
Thanks!

yeah i have put my first trays, I got so impatient with them that I put on the second set of trays in like the 12th day, 2 days early. I don't know if i was too impatient or not, I just wanted the process to speed up a little bit. So far i have not seen anything wrong with it.

from what i know most people switch every 2 weeks, which is also what i do. i dont think 3 weeks is necessary, but if you schedule your next appt with your dentist according to the 3week time intervals, then you'd be wearing your last set for 5 weeks (if you get 3 sets per visit). so i just say tell your dentist you wana do 2weeks/set, theyre your teeth.

Apperently nvrsaynvr's ortho thinks 3 weeks is necessary so the smart thing to do is listen to your ortho and DO WHAT THEY TELL YOU! Buttercup is right nvrsayvnr, there your teeth. Don't screw them up by listening to non-professional advise.
I am also doing 3 weeks between tray replacements as advised by my ortho. There are reasons. It helps avoid refinements as every little planned move needs to finish before you continue to the next. Three weeks will surely accomplish this as two sometimes can come up a little short even if it is comfortable. You may not notice right away but it will slowly catch up to you. Then one day you can't quite get number 20something to fit. Even the Invisalign reps that come to my ortho office are saying 3 weeks for some if not all people seems to be a better idea.

Thank you all for your reply. I have been noticing that my trays are getting harder and harder to put on. Especially my last (#7). Today is 4 days into my seventh tray and they are getting easier. Also, this is my first tray that I have not had to file (see my other post, if you dont know what I am talking about). This is the 1st tray that is not cutting my tounge. I think the dr was correct when he stated my mouth was to narrow and now that its a little wider, they are becoming more comfortable and less cutting my tounge. I have to say, so far I am very pleased with my invisalign. Last night I was looking at my upper teeth and my smile and I do see a very big difference. I love it. I had a lot of nice complaments on my smile before, but now I should get much more. Now I have a HOLLYWOOD SMILE>

i have had my first aligner in 3 days and its easy to put in and take out the only thing iam narked off about is my ortho filed part of the the aligner at the front and iam paranoid so i wear it 16 hours to avoid wearing it at work until i put aligner 2 in. i dont have the dreaded lisp i though i would but that might change when the bottoms go in 2 weeks from now also nobody seems to say if they have had extractions i have 2 on top and 2 on bottom its quite hard putting the tray in without making you bleed. i woke up in the morning after my extractions and lets just say i need a new pillow. also my trays for the first year pull the teeth back together to fill my extraction gaps which means i see no results for at least 1 1/2 years
