4 hours after First Aligner Inserted. I am worried...

Only one tooth is feeling sore. It doesn't feel like my teeth are being treated as they should and have a hard time feeling like they will move without my teeth being sore.

It's been about 4 hours since I got my first set inserted, but there's nothing. I can press against my teeth with my fingers like I could before and not feel anything. It doesn't even feel bad taking them out, inserting the aligners.

I am worried, since my dentist said that I should feel the same pressure as I would with regular braces. I had regular braces before and on the first day I could not even bite down without having my eyes damn near well up. Brushing and flossing was painful too for the first 7-10 days. It sucked, but at least I knew it was due to movement of teeth.

Any thoughts? Personal experiences?

Teeth do NOT have to hurt in order to move. Many people think more pain = more movement but that is a popular misconception.

it's also only been a few hours. Even regular braces usually don't even cause much, if any, pressure that soon.

Stop worrying. It's too early in treatment for that lol

Well, it's been about 11 - 12 hours now (I know... I am up late), and some teeth do feel a little bit sore. I can definately feel it. We'll see. I suspected it to creep up on me.

See, when I had regular braces I teeth got sore sore after about 30 minutes. I mean bad!

I guess Invisalign is different.

Thanks!

Dont worry about no pain ~ no gain. I thought the same, sometimes, because when I first started my treatment, some trays I could feel the pressure, some I couldnt. Remember Invisalign usually works on only one or two teeth at a time - per tray. IF you dont feel pain ~ be happy, your one of the lucky ones!!
