Kikia - Welcome!

The day I got my braces I started to cover my mouth when I laughed. It got so that it became a habit and I was doing it without realizing. It actually brought more attention to mouth than if I had left it alone. Also, people in my office started to make fun of me - they called it my Geisha laugh (yeah - I will exact revenge one day soon....).

Smile proudly!
People cant tell with ceramics on - unless they are really close to you.
DONT hide your smile for 2 years!!!!

I was the opposite, I never used to smile pre-braces, because I was so self concious about my crooked teeth, now my braces, have started straightening my teeth, I smile alot more now :D I discovered how to feel comfortable with life's most rewarding of expressions.

Hey Kikia,
welcome fm another New Yorker. Did you pick up yr Sunday Times sports section today to see Svetlana Kuznetsova winning the US Open with a big braced smile? She is 19, in all metal and its been written up in all the papers. Hope this inspires you and everyone else.

Welcome kikia. So happy to see so many new yorkers.
Sometimes when I smile big I feel as though it will take extra effort to pull my lips over my giant sized ceramic braces. I'm sure as time progresses it will be easier :D

only been two days since i got my braces, and i think my teeth are shifting already. i feel so much pressure on those teeth. anyhow, i am so careless. i ate cookies and cream ice cream yesterday, and it made my mouth all black with oreo crumbs! now i am eating spaghetti and meatballs.. and i see the sauce getting onto my tooth colored brackets! HELP! damn, what can i eat? lol.
