30 Months and going!!!!

#1 Post by felbemate »

I'm getting frustrated that's how I found you! I am not sure what to do, I'm in Damon Brackets and going on 31 Months in braces. My son, 14, also has had them on this long. It's been long and hard, lots of broken brackets on both of us, more money to put the old brackets on my son, lots of pain, lots of doors that won't open, stuggle, stuggle.....not sure when it's going to end, but am VERY frustrated. To note: my 13 year old just got her braces on yesterday with a different Ortho....I'll bet she'll have hers off before me. She also had them put on in an hour with EASE....way different then me and my son who sat countless hours with our mouths stretched open. Also my son's and my Ortho put the brackets on the bottom upside down, so three weeks later he had to re-do them....and he's from one of the top Ortho schools in the country? Anyone have any advice....we are all paid up!

Sorry I can't offer advice but just wondered what your ortho has said when you ask him how much longer you can expect to be in braces? Also at your initial consultation what was your predicted timespan? I believe that if braces are on for too long it is bad for your roots. Maybe if you are getting no answers from your ortho it may be time to visit another for a second opinion.

Hope it works out for you soon.
