I'm loving these braces!

#1 Post by mary. »

Seriously, I realized this morning that I love these things! They are so cool. After only 6 weeks I see me teeth straightening out and moving into place! It's awesome. And, everything is getting easier - eating is fine now, they're not painful, and I can now floss is a reasonable amount of time : )

I know I'll be feeling things after my first adjustment in a few weeks, but I figure hey it won't be worst than when I got them put on and that wasn't so bad. A glass of wine or two later and I'm sure I'll get through that first adjustment evening just fine : )

I am soooo glad I got these braces!

Gotta agree with y'all... (I'm only one week in, so I haven't had an adjustment yet, but I don't imagine it will be worse than what I've already made it through) I am loving my braces, too. Sure, I can't wait to get them off, but I whenever I look at them I am sooo happy to think about what they are doing and what the end results will be.

Hi Mary,

That's such a great attitude. It must be wonderful to see progress. I have only been braced for 9 days. I can't say that "I love them" yet but everything is getting easier. I can't wait until I can really see some progress.

I TOTALLY agree!!! I love these things! I've had them on since October 11th and I certainly can see movement. I get a stronger archwire three weeks from today at 3:00pm - not that I'm counting down the days or anything but I can't wait to see MORE movement.

Yay, so glad to hear that things are working out for you. I myself was just braced on Friday so I'm still in the honeymoon stage (less honeymoon more divorce haha)

Can't wait to see your progress pics!

Hurray for you Mary!
One month today for me, and I agree - glad I did it!
The first month was dicey, but now I barely have to use wax and
IT IS SO COOL to be able to floss - even despite the wires it's easier due to the new spaces.
I've already had "an adjustment" due to breaking my bottom wire - the ortho said just put in the next size up. No problem at all!
If you can survive spacers and the initial installment, adjustments gotta be a snap!
Best of luck, and report back!!!

for your very kind words! I'm so glad that others are feeling good about things too! Let's all help each other keep the positiveness throughout our little journey.

I'm just so happy to be getting used to these things, and to see some real progress - I really didn't expect to see it so soon. I must admit that the month or two that it took was really nothing compared to the twenty years that I waited to get braces. Ah, how things look when they're put into perspective haha.

I have my first adjustment on Monday and I suspect it'll be uncomfortable for a bit. However, I know that I'll adjust too soon enough : ) And, I fave a few of my favorite soups ready for the first few days.

Another bonus about my adjustment: my dentist is extremely good- very skilled, very cautious, very very kind - and get this - gorgeous too! How lucky am I! Not that I really care about his looks, but there's no harm in such a lovely sight : ) My friends think it's hilarious and joke about my cutie dentist haha.

Hehe yeah thats a bonus alright. Hey so is your dentist doing your ortho treatment then? Just wondering cause mine is- he specialises in cosmetic dentistry and "non specialist orthodontics". Haven't come across anyone else seeing a dentist for their braces on here yet.
Treatment by a Cosmetic Dentist:
1/3/07-22/11/07: removable appliances
22/11/07-10/2/09: Innovation C on uppers
8/1?/08-10/2/09: Innovation R on lowers
Ortho:
25/2/09-29/8/11: Clarity brackets

oooh thats so cool bracedagain! Will have to read your story cause I'm very interested. I must admit I have questioned the choice I made to not go to an ortho and I think some people on here thought it was a bit strange too but putting them on was fine, hehe he knew what he was doing . His assistant didn't though, she was new.
