I have been wearing braces since April 2003 and I had one tooth removed. A lower front one. The gap has closed in a few months, but I have to admit I feel rather self-conscious about it. I know people usually don't count other people's teeth, but I know there's one tooth missing and I don't quite like the idea. :?

Probably most people will never notice it though, so there's no reason for me to feel self-conscious about it (but still I am). :oops:

Hello there,

I'm Barbara from Lyon, 34 years old with braces too.
Mine are ceramic + metal brackets and elastics. I've a hg too, and try to wear it only at home. It's really better like that.
I'm very pleased to know we are many french braced wearers !
Maybe we could try to keep in touch by mail ?

Désolée pour le rocket scientist... mais j'étais absente quelques jours !

Je reviens juste de chez mon ortho... Elle est trop cool !
Par contre j'ai comme l'impression que je vais encore "souffrir" quelques dizaines de mois avant d'avoir le parfait sourire de mes rêves ! Pas de problèmes... En plus pour être sincère, mon appareil ne me dérange vraiment pas (à part pour manger) et je crois même que je l'aime bien...
Bonne nouvelle toutefois, en ce qui concerne mon casque extra-oral (super sexy) que je me supporte presque toute la journée... d'après elle ce devrait être terminé pour février ! Je suis impatiente de pouvoir enfin me montrer sans cet objet de torture sur la figure, même si tout le monde par politesse, je pense, me dit que ça me donne un certain charme...

Pas de problème pour discuter de nos expériences orthodontiques respectives ! Bien entendu, si d'autres francophones veulent participer, vous serez les bienvenu(e)s...
