33 yr old newbie :) Hey ...

#1 Post by graciesmom »

Hey everyone! Glad I found this...I just got speed braces almost a week and a bit ago! Finally after wanting to do it for a long time! I must say I am still getting used to them and wonder when I will ever be comfortable with them..LOL!
I have this blue molar build up on the top of 2 of my molars to keep my bite open...and to be honest that is the most annoying part so far! Well that and all the new little cuts that have developed! But I am making use of the lovely wax :)
Anyone else have this blue cement build up? It is so hard to attempt to eat anything , because they are hitting my bottam teeth and none of my teeth actually touch. I know it will get better but for now it sucks!
Anyway I am thinking of the beautiful outcome in 18-24 mths! I have 2 beautiful girls and a very supportive husband and now a newly found forum that will get me through it. Looking forward to getting to know everyone :)

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

I never had any build ups, but I do remember not being able to eat because none of my back teeth touched. It's gotten better and now I can eat pretty much anything.

Good luck with your journey!

Hi graciesmom - I too have the blue build up but on my bottom molars and yes they are driving me INSANE too and I am only on day 2. Not helped by the fact that I have had my two baby canines removed and my impacted adults exposed so not only can I not chew, even if I could I have whopper gaps right where I would want to chew given said blue build up! I too am focusing on the end goal and the fact that my hubby too is supportive and positive for me. Good luck and would welcome any learnings for chewing you may stumble across! :)

I have the build ups on mine. I have to tell you they do get better I promise. I thought i would never be able to eat this whole process... but after about a week I don't know how but they just adjust. Hang in there and congrats.
