Braces on today!

#1 Post by Starwarsgirl »

Hello everyone, I'm 28 years old. I've dealt with having an ugly smile all my life, my teeth are very crowded in the front, I took the biggest step in my life by getting braces today! It went great except I didn't get braces put on 4 of my top front teeth, has anyone else had this done like this? My ortho said my roots are too short and the top 4 will get brackets put on in a few months, I cant wait!

Don't know about that; what I do know is that if you trust your Ortho it will all be good in the end. Congratulations with having been braced.

Welcome Starwarsgirl and congrats on your decision to get braces!

I've not heard of only having four teeth braced at a time -- but I have brackets and wire on all of my top teeth except the last two molars have brackets in place minus the wire. Ortho said back molars will be included in my upcoming adjustment because the wire I have now is flexible and slips out of the back brackets so they will be threaded with the tougher wire -- oooh I can't wait

I understand how you feel about having an ugly smile. My baby teeth didn't seem as crowded when I see my elementary school pictures but my adult teeth have been cringe-worthy. But we're on our way now!

Best wishes on your journey and keep us updated...
