Hello! I am new to the club...

#1 Post by Snow »

Hello,

I am Snow. At the age of 36, I decided to do something about my crowded teeth so I will have a beautiful smile for the latter half of my life! :D

I am going to see one more orthodontist tomorrow, then I should be able to decide which one to go with (I am choosing from three). It's such a committment and expense. I hope I will make the right decision. How did you pick your doctor? :?:

I am sure I will need your encouragement to complete the process, especially in the beginning. And hopefully I can also share something others find useful and helpful.

Have a nice day!

Welcome to the site Snow! I think you'll find a lot of good information and support here.

I have to admit I picked the first ortho that was suggested to me (although by my dentist, who I trust). After my initial consult with the ortho I felt he knew what he was talking about, so I just went with him.
But I think you're absolutely doing the right thing interviewing several before you take the plunge.

Once you make the decision to go for it, a lot of the stress goes away.
And once you get the hardware on, the rest of it goes away, because there you are, and you just have to wait a while for the magic to happen.

So here's some encouragement, best of luck to you in your decision and eventual treatment!

Hi and welcome. Like Doug, I went with the one my Dentist suggested. He thought I might like to go with Invisligne so he recommended a particular orthodontist (he has treated some of the orthodontist's patients). I decided against the Invisaligne, but liked and felt confident with the orthodontist.

Be sure you are comfortable with the orthodontist and his staff. Also besure that he/she will answer your questions.

Best wishes to you.
Had Damon 3 / Smart Clips for almost 2 years
Now in Hawley upper 10 hours/day, permanent lower retainers

Doug & Attagirl2,

Thank you so much for your kind advice and encouragement. It's people like you from this web site that helps ease my anxiety of the decision to get braces. Wish the best on your treatments as well!
