Welcome and congrats on the start of your journey!
Well I don't know much about ceramics other than they are more expensive but less obtrusive visually.
I have metal and my main reason was the cost and time. I could have got Invisalign but didn't want to wait for impressions and the cost would have been about two grand more so it was a pretty easy decision for me. I don't mind the metal at all, I only have to wear them for 10-12 months so I wasn't all that worried about looking odd in braces at 24.
I say get the ceramic if you can afford them and/or are worried about the aesthetics of your braces...but whatever decision you choose be sure to research thoroughly so you know what's going to be in your mouth for quite some time. Once again welcome and best wishes with your journey!!

I just turned 25 and I got the ceramic braces and honestly I couldn't be happier as they are very subtle and people hardly notice them. It comes down to personal choice/if you can afford them and if your orthodontist does them.
I agree with sunnylocks, do lots of research! I watched heaps of youtube videos, googled the different kinds, pros/cons etc and made my decision based on all of that Good luck

You can probably find countless posts about metal vs. ceramic here
.. I have ceramic on top and like them a lot. I'm stuck with metal on the bottom. I'm not a huge fan of where the elastics attach on the metal ones vs. ceramic. I think the ceramic are flatter.. but for me, it didn't cost any extra to get ceramic on top.

If it's within your budget then I'd say to go for the ceramic. I have them on my upper teeth and I'm so happy. You can hardly see them!

I'm looking to get ceramics too! Hopefully they don't stain...

the ceramic brackets don't stain but the teeny tiny bands around them do. Luckily those do get changed every so often so it's all goodpinkgecko wrote:I'm looking to get ceramics too! Hopefully they don't stain...
