Except it looks like I have a blue bread tie on my top front teeth. Oh well.

I'm 13 and last month when my braces were put on I got silver and pearly white, thought they would look cool. I'm an IDIOT! :biglaf: Well, they were pretty invisible colors. I went for my first adjustment yesterday, I wanted red, white and blue but I had to have chains so I just got red and blue. I am MUCH happier with bright colors! :D

WOW I am so glad that I am not alone in liking the colors. If I couldn't have fun with this I don't know if I would be happy having them. I love to go to my appointments. I always go to the site with the color selector just to see what I might like next month. I get to change them every 4 weeks. :jump: :pinkbraces:

I saw that on an earlier post someone tried glow in the dark, anyone else? I really want to get a light green color but my ortho only has it in glow in the dark. Do these tend to fade or do anything weird? I think it would kind of fun to have glowing mouth! I have my adjustment today so if anyone has any info let me know.
Thanks. :D

Light colours?

#22 Post by Jean »

(BTW, Chickadee, I love your avatar.)

Folks, I had decided beforehand to probably try white or tooth-coloured liagtures for the first installation because it seemed that they would make the metal braces less noticeable. However, the lady said that they tend to stain/turn yellow. How disappointing. I noticed someone's picture here with clear ligatures.

People, what have you found regarding the white/tooth/clear ligatures? Do they really stain/turn yellow? I don't drink tea or coffee and seldom eat blueberries. Would they still tend to stain?

Don't get me wrong - I intend to have fun with colours, too; but sometimes I just want to be inconspicuous (like when I attend my nephew's wedding). 'Guess I'm still part chicken, but the boldness will come with time. :-#) I think the colours are great for anybody, any age.

I have ceramic braces and when I first had them on I got the clear ligatures. I drank coffee probably just on the weekends and I would brush my teeth right afterwards. Then one time I had some chips that are similar to funyons and they turned my ligatures almost a light neon yellow color. I know there are some other posts on the site that have some listings of what will turn ligatures yellow, like curry, yellow mustard, etc.
I now have gone to colors which I really like and dont have to worry about any color changing.

Hello
I got a new combo of colors this time. Blue and Dark pink.
I also got my last tooth bracketed. They took the coil spring and it's activators off. Now my tooth gets to move forward into the space that was created for it. Boy does this HURT! :yikes:
