Hello all!

I am so glad I have found this site as it is a great source of encouragement to me! I hope eventually I will be able to give back and encourage others as well. I had my consult today, and I was told I am eligible for braces! I am very excited. We discussed my options and I am going for upper and lower ceramics. My treatment time is estimated at 24 months. The first appointment is 90 minutes where I will get spacers, and uppers/lowers put on, and my second appointment is one week later. I am nervous and excited, and I am looking forward to sharing my progress with you all. I feel like this forum has helped push me in the right direction to go ahead with it. It is a comfort knowing I am not the only adult doing this.

Good luck to you! I agree - this forum really is a life saver! It's such a comfort to know others are going through the same thing, and also to see progress pics of those who are further along. Can't wait to hear about your experience!

Wow, ceramics on the bottom too? That's cool! My ortho will not do ceramics on the bottom because of potential damage.

I just got Damon ceramic top and metal bottom. Thank goodness I hide my lowers most of the time!

Ceramics on the bottom would be nice.. in a previous consult I asked for 'em on the bottom too, and they gave in.. unfortunately, I didn't get braces at that time, so now I'm stuck with metal. I'm 27 & just got mine too. The end result is all going to be worth it. Kinda sucks, but it's kind of exciting too :) Good luck!
