I am new here, I am twenty six and in my eleventh month of treatment. I currently have metal braces with a power chain on the top and regular silver elastic ligatures on the bottom. I have been using elastics for about five months, I am currently using two that are upside down V's. I started using braces because all my teeth shifted due to two vacant spaces on the bottom. The teeth on top started dropping as well, hopefully they will continue to move up, they have moved... but they arent aligned with the rest of my teeth... =\ Anywhoo, I love having braces! Cant wait to use a retainer Im actually really excited about that. The one thing that sucks about being an adult with braces is having so many people ask why I waited so long =P I am glad I have them now because I know I wouldnt have been on point with changing my elastics. As we all know, having two-to-three elastics in the mouth is annoying especially wearing them in the day time, but it will be worth it when they come off .

Hi! Welcome to the board Hopefully the elastics will be a thing of the past for you soon. I haven't had any yet, but I have hooks for them so no doubt they're on their way!
