Wow! I live in Charlotte, NC and I just got my braces on Jan 24. They charge $1995 for top and same for bottom. I opted for top only. My dentist offers "6 Month Smiles." Price includes everything, including retainer and whitening of my teeth at the end. I would keep shopping around, if I were you. That seems high for braces.

That definitely seems high to me too!!!! I have 2 orthodontists that I will be going to here and maybe a 3rd if I have totally conflicting consultations

alright I was quoted for 3200 on the top and bottom both, and if I just wanted top only then I would only have to pay 2300. He was more worried about my TMJ than anything else.

my husband wants me to go to another one on the 28th but they were so rude on the phone I don't want to do that. ugh.

I also have anther appointment on Monday with a place called Braces, Braces, Braces and they do the 6 month smile so Iam hoping that will end up being where I get my braces.

Wow! $1995?? I'm in Louisiana, which I thought had low cost of living, but the lowest I was quoted was almost $5,000. I will be paying $6400 unless I decide on clear on top and then it will be $6900 (if I paid in full it would be cheaper by $500).

I'm sure a lot varies by where you live and your orthodontist themselves.

I had my consultation about a week ago and it's going to be $5700, with $1300 down and $217 a month for 18 months, for the Damon Brace System.

The "work" I have to have done is fixing a 60% cross bite, an overjet, and will need 2 upper teeth removed. It SOUNDS like my teeth are crazy, but they're actually really pretty straight. Most of my issues are caused my sucking my thumb forEEEEVER. lol.

Hi Avalon Rose ! I got the six month smile I know they are meant to be cheaper anyway because of the short duration . I am paying 2450 euro. When they are off I will be faced with getting a root canal and a porcelain crown. Having a nice smile is working out expensive ! The day I got the impressions she said I could wait up to three weeks to get them on after that....I put them on 2 days later! Terribly impatient/excited so I know exactly how you feel!
Genetics are so unusual my two brothers both have annoyingly perfect teeth despite the face I have much better dental health and eating habits! Luck of the draw I guess haha!

I have 3 weeks and one day to go! After wanting to do this for years I can hardly believe it's about to happen! I'm nervous too though...worried that I'll wake up the next day and think 'oh my god what have I done'?!...anxious that people will stare and ask questions while I'm feel self conscious about them...but you know...I've wanted this for so long I'm not letting anyone get me down about this...I'm doing it for me and it's literally going to be life changing for me.

Oh...and price....I'm in the UK, I'm having ceramic uppers and metal lowers...total cost will be £2,650. I have a payment plan set up and will be paying £119 per month over 24 months.

I checked into the 6 ms and they were a flat rate of 3600... I thought that was crazy, maybe for someone with a quote of 5,000 that would be cheap but when I was quoted for tops AND bottoms for just 3,000 then 3,600 seemed silly. oh well. I tried. I will stick with traditionals.

Kezza - I'm really nervous about getting them too cause the day after I get braced,we will be having ahuge conference that is a yearly thing and I am afraid of the thousands of questions and everythingelse, but ohwell... it's my week off work and the best time to do it.

I was nervous about that too, but I've had mine for 5 days now and I haven't regretted it once! I'm so excited to be getting the smile I've always wanted. I went with ceramic on top so I feel like they aren't so obvious as metal would be.

OH NO! Sounds just like me, I will be at a huge conference with like 5,000 people and I will know alot of people... so I know every few steps I take I will be questioned with OMG You got braces. Yes, I am aware of that. LOL! Maybe itwon't be near as bad as I think! BTW, this conference is called PFYC I am Pentecostal and all the chuches from around the US get together once a year, most of the people I hung out with as teenagers and we constantly were getting together for rallies and youth camps. It's always exciting, this year Iam almost depressed about it.
