I finally got my brand new set of braces, and I already hate them! <24 hours up to now>.
If i briefly sum up my story, I have a severe misalignment when i was small, but the teeth were all in the correct places and were not crooked. they were just not 90 degrees, but had something like a 30 degree slant. my parents didnt want any teeth removed, so my doctor gave a specially designed retainer to push my teeth back. He only worked on my top jaw. I dont know why he did this, but seemed ok those days. He worked on me for like 2 yrs, and then i got fed up and stopped seeing him. Teeth were kind of ok.
Now I'm 25, after 10 yrs of stopping treatment, I see that my front teeth are slowly getting slanted again. This time I went to a doc (now I'm in HK) and he suggested the removal of 4 premolars and braces. Did not like the idea (and the price- Roughly HKD22k which is nearly usd3000 Coz I'm a poor PhD student!) But my parents and brother forced me.. and now here I am.
Removed the four premolars, and got the braces Y day. Having difficulties in eating, but not as severe as some ppl say! (had a good chicken streak and rice few moments ago

cheers,
P.S. moral of the story: Always finish what you start, and have a proper plan for retainers after treatment! Wish i had more internet those days
