Braces tomorrow!

#1 Post by Indie girl »

Hi, I'm new here. I've been wanting braces for a few years now and this year I can finally afford them. I was suppose to get them in my teens but the orthodontist scared me so I chickened out. I want them for bite problems rather than cosmetic problems (but I won't be disappointed with a nice straight set of pearly whites  ) I will be having double jaw surgery 14-15 months into my braces treatment. The surgery is to correct my underbite and a 3mm open bite. I also have an abnormally small upper jaw (yay me?) which has caused a cross bite. In the past few months I've been getting bad pains in my jaw due to my bite. I'm getting braces tomorrow so I will post a picture then of before braces and then one with them on :)

Good luck today, and remember to keep us posted! The bonding was a breeze for me and I'm sure you will do great, too. Day 2 wasn't awesome but the soreness reminded me of the no pain no gain aspect of this process.

Anyways, can't wait to see your before and after pics and congrats for embarking on this journey for yourself and with us!!

Thank you, I'm in my second day now and the pain isn't too bad. My computer has decided to break so as soon as it's fixed I'll post pictures as I don't know how to do it from my iphone!
I've actually noticed a difference in my teeth already. When I got the braces on my back teeth were not closing and today they are!

Good luck! It took me about a week to used to them. I miss sandwiches, but never mind :)

Well this is a very late update but an update none the less!! I've had my braces 2 months and have notices some small changes. Is there a part of the forum where I document changes and updates? I presume 'The bracket club' is just to say hi :) Also I need to figure out how to post pictures!!

Right under "The Bracket Club" is another section called "Our Braces Stories"

You won't be able to post/view photos until you reach the posting quota (I believe it's 7 posts), but you can definitely start documenting :D
