Soon to be Newbie
Well the big day has been scheduled......I am getting braced on 9/14/05, they said that I would be there an hour and would be getting my brackets and my spacers. My husband just got out of his braces and his teeth look great, the only thing is my teeth are straight and I need braces for my overbite which is not bad at all (I just keep biting my lip, and then they turn into a canker sore) I asked my husband what to expect but he is a manly man and did not have any complaints.....so if there is anyone out there that would like to warn me what I am in for please do so. Oh by the way I am 29 and have recently quit my job to stay home with the kids, I have gone back to college and needless to say I still get carded when buying beer for my husband.....so how much younger will braces make me look??????

When I got my braces I got wires and brackets on the same day, and I didn't get spacers at all, so I can't tell you about those things (sorry!). As to how much younger your braces will make you look: Honestly, a lot of twenty-something people I have seen with braces look about sixteen years old, and people in their fifties look like they are in their late thirties. But don't worry about that, just be excited for your braces!! Congrats on making the big step

Damon 2's top and bottom, BRACED 02/22/04 and REMOVED 08/29/05. Now in bonded retainers (top and bottom) :4 wisdom teeth surgically removed on 12/22/05:
