Newbie - cfast braces

#1 Post by belle37 »

Hi all

Im new to all this - forum and braces - Im 37 and have wanted to straighten my teeth for YEARS! Im going for an appointment next thursday to have the xrays and measurements taken and then hopefully get started!! I cant wait to finally have straight teeth!

Loved reading the forum so far and hearing everyone's experiences! Its hard to tell people how you feel about it all because unless they are desperate for straight teeth too they just dont get it! I think my mum and MIL think I'm crackers paying so much for it but my lovely hubby totally gets it as he knows how self conscious I am of my teeth!

Bye for now

Hi Belle, I've replied in the other thread too but welcome. I agree that people don't really understand. My mum and MIL both don't think I needed my teeth doing but it's a very personal thing isn't it. My teeth have bothered me for years and now I can afford it, to me it's worth it. So good for you. Hope all goes well for you. :)

Hello!

After I had my braces put on so many people said they didn't think that I needed braces or that they never noticed....but overall it may help to improve your appearance and it certainly will help you with your confidence!

I'm very happy that I finally "made the plunge" -- I wish you the best!! Good luck!

It's very hard to explain to people who have never had braces. I keep getting "but your teeth aren't even that crooked".

Then I have to launch into my bite, clenching, acid reflux enamel wear issues. For me it's not about crooked, it's about saving my teeth so I don't end up in Dentures when I'm 45!

Good Luck on your journey! Mine is just beginning! :)

Hi Belle
Did you get your Fast braces in the end? I am thinking of doing these or 6 Month Smiles, would love to hear how you're getting on.

sorry for the late reply, better late than never.... :D

Cfast is just another brand name for a bracket and wire alignment system.
http://www.cfastresults.com
the one my dentist offers along with the inman aligner, and invisalign.
i was recommended the cfast as i need teeth rotating as well as backwards/forwards alignment.
and the speed and price point was better.

i'm nearly done now,
i saw a lot of quick movement in the first 3 months,
but the final tweaking and rotation of a couple of stubborn teeth is a lot slower.
i'm hoping to have the treatment finished before i go on holiday in July,
but if it takes longer, it takes longer...
i'd rather have it done right than rushed.
