30 and taken the Invisalign plunge

#1 Post by dreadpirateweasley »

Well, I've had my Invisalign since June, so I've not just taken the plunge, but I did decide to do it.

I had braces twice as a kid -- once when I was in 4th grade and once when I was in 9th grade. I have a very small mouth and pretty wide teeth. I was also an irresponsible 15-year-old, so I definitely didn't wear my retainer. So... voila, 15 years later... Invisalign! I did consider it back in 2003, but my teeth weren't "that bad," so I didn't end up going through with it. I don't know how much Invisalign has changed, but I'm glad I waited.

I'm loving it. I can eat sticky, gummy, chewy things without worrying about my braces snapping off. My teeth are already quite straight after 20-some-odd trays (Change trays every 7 days, which is not common at my orthodontist or by ... pretty much anyone), and my friends can't stop asking me about it.
