Hi I'm new! I'm 25 and will be getting braces for the first time. I am a full time professional. I've always wanted braces, and now I am able to afford them. I got my moldings, and xray done. Treatment planning appointment is tomorrow! I'm very excited, anxious, embarrassed, all in one.
I will come back to update the news from my appointment tomorrow, but my main concerns are my gap between teeth 8 and 9, my anterior open bite, and my impacted wisdom teeth. My ortho says I have a complicated case, during initial consult she said 3 years. We shall see what the plan is tomorrow!
Hope everyone stays warm and happy new year!

Welcome!
It is an amazing process. I only have my braces on 3 months and was embarrassed also in the beginning. Trust me when I say you will get over that feeling very fast.
Good luck!

Re: Hi Im new! My story
I was a bit self conscious the first few days I had my braces. At 30, its was just awkward. I rarely notice them now! You will get used to them, no doubt. But in a professional world, there will be a time or two where it may get to you.
I just was put up for a promotion and had to give a speech in front of my peers......I was nervous what my peers would say about my braces. Most of them dont even realize I have them. You are your own worst critic, no one sees what you see.
You are one step closer to awesomeness!

Welcome to the club!
Like many others the part of the process that took the longest time was contemplating whether I should get it ( the embarrassment, the pain, the $$, the embarrassment , the embarrassment lol) but seriously once they're on the only thing I'm regretting is not getting them earlier!

Yay! Good for you! I'm 30 and just got mine 6 weeks ago. I have already had my wire changed once and had 4 extractions. I don't see them straight YET, but I see my crowding teeth spreading out .....that's really exciting! Best of luck on your journey!
