I get my braces on Wednesday!!!! I'm sooo excited!!! I already can't wait for them to come off so that I can be confident about my smile. I have my spacers in now and I'm pretty much on a liquid diet. Any advice for a newbie???
You might be on a liquid diet again after getting the braces installed, as chewing is going to be a painful and your teeth will be wobbly. That will last about a week or so. After that, you'll either have pain after an adjustment for at least 2 days or not at all. Adjustments might be painful, but everyone has a different threshold. I don't take anything before adjustments and the longer you've been in treatment, the less painful they are. To me anyway.
I suggest you get a Waterpik because it's much easier to get food debris out of your teeth as it gets easily caught in the braces. Try to brush after every meal or use the Waterpik or swish if you can. Floss every night and use interdental brushes.
