Fifth week and fiftyish old
Well I'm feeling stressed somewhat about braces. My bottoms are very crooked and seem impossible to move. I still feel sensitive when the fronts touch and its scary. My teeth seem to have accelerated in staining, no more white teeth, maybe it's the crest pro health I don't know. I'm in for two years. Should my teeth still feel weird?

Don't use crest pro health. It does leave staining. I was using that brand of mouthwash and it became nasty fast.

I've used it for many years and since the braces my teeth have stained. Crap. What do you suggest?

I use a Listerine rinse with no issues. I think the Crest Pro Health I used was a bright blue color. And was told by hygienist that brand was notorious for staining.

I think you shouldn't be scared that it still hurts after the fifth week.
I am 35 and my mouth hurt badly for three weeks and was sore for another three weeks after that. I ate baby food for the first three weeks. I probably can't even say "ate." I sucked baby food out of the jars through a straw. My son also got braces a few months after me, at age 14, it took him two days to feel "normal." I think it takes us longer to heal as we get older.
In any case, if you are really concerned, I'm sure you could call your orthodontist's office and speak to some one about your concerns.

Thanks, I seem to doubt myself if I made the right decision. Hope so. The ortho said my teeth are moving and doing what it's supposed to do but wants to go slow and gentle as apposed to moving them fast. He hasn't changed the wire yet. They feel weird still. Switched to Colgate and I think that's better.

Hang in there. My teeth hurt every single day for the first six weeks. I also thought what have I done and could I bear going through potentially another 24 months in this much pain. I was scared that something was wrong as it seemed everyone in these forums were back to normal in a few days. Well not me. Fast forward to 14 weeks and I am nearly back to normal. I will have a wire changed this week and I'm guessing that will make them hurt again. Although I thought I had a high pain threshold I think everyone's experience is different. Once you start seeing results you will not look back. Mine have improved so much already.
