Hi I'm new!

#1 Post by sosomoto86 »

Hi, I got my braces fitted two days ago, they're only on my uppers but still really interfering with eating. I've noticed that they don't look quite as bad with the wax on, can I stick wax to the brackets and wire to make them a bit more discreet? Or should I just accept the brace lol.

Hello and welcome to the message board! Congrats on getting braced! Were you born in 86, because that was a good year to be born.

You are of course free to do as you wish the wax but I imagine it would be pretty inconvenient to keep wax on them at all times. The wax comes off pretty easily when eating and drinking. Also, it's just more stuff in your mouth to have food stuck to it. I think if you give it a week or two, you won't mind the look of your braces so much. I can also promise you that your braces aren't as obvious to everyone else as they are to you.

Just be zen with the braces. And really, wax all over really will look silly. Braces look like braces. Everyone has seen them before, and when they notice you have them, 99% of people will never say anything anyway.

Just go with it. Look forward to your new smile and rock the metal. Or the ceramic in my case.
Braces for 18 months/4 days.

Yes I'm 30, my braces are my birthday present to myself, should've gone on holiday haha. I've hated my teeth for years and getting married end of next year so it was the right decision. Just taking a long time to adjust. I've realized the wax comes off easily so it's not an option. I've got clear brackets but they still feel really obvious to me!

Hey!! I got my braces on at 33, and had them for two years. Theyre off now, and I have never regretted having them
