Having Damon braces put on soon...

My name is Emily and I should have my braces on sometime in late November. I am having Damon 3's or 5's being put on. Which Damon brackets are the newest?I am getting my entire overview of my orthodontic future in the next month which will be my last appointment before "the day". I am very confident with my orthodontist because she was a generalist practitioner before she went to dentistry school. I have been through lots of dental work. I am told I should have my braces off in 18-24 months. That seems like a long time. Hopefully my teeth will move without problems.

Damon 5's? Wow! Are they already moving on to 5's? Oh well, they all work to make your teeth straight. =-) Sorry, I'm feeling a little "Geez! I want those!" right now. P.S. 18-24 months was my treatment plan too. I have read from the orthos that they give an overestimate usually, depending on patient compliance and how well it's going. I'll have had mine for 18 months when I get them off.

I have Damon 3's. I'm not aware of anything higher than that...but who am I to guess??

It will be old hat before you know it. I've had mine for more than 6 months now (of 18 month term) and the first few months were exciting, but slow.

Then..,..all of a sudden it was 6 months down 12 to go.
