Spacers Suck!!

#1 Post by At last »

Well I went in to the office yesterday thinking I was all ready to be braced (and nervous as can be) I sat down in the chair and the assistant was like "how long have you had your spacers in?" I told her that no one ever mentioned spacers before so I just figured that I didnt need them. She then told me that they must have just forgotten last time about the spacers so she would have to do them now and Ill go back in three weeks to get the braces... which is totally fine by me, I waited this long, Im sure I can make it three more weeks... but these spacers are terrible... I cant stand the constant feeling of something between my teeth... its throbbing, and chewing is not fun right now... is that how this is supposed to be? I dont know, but if I am having this much trouble with the spacers, how on earth am I going to stand two years in braces???

This, my friends, is the million dollar question.

Ok maybe not million dollar, but I think you get what I mean.

Someone please tell me this is normal??? :Questions:

Its normal to feel sore pain with spacers. Take some pain killer and you'll be fine.

I know its annoying, but hang it there.

Braces will be totally different when you have them and not the dreaded spacers.

Spacers really weren't too bad for me, though i did feel some pain.
Same with the braces, though initially I had a LOT more pressure than I did with the spacers.

I guess after having my wisdom teeth taken out everything afterward just doesn't seem as bad.

Cheer up, you'll get used to the spacers, believe me.
