hi, i'm new and can't wait to get my braces!

#1 Post by kristin07 »

Hi, I'm Kristin and am very excited to finally be able to get my braces. My orthodontist gave me two options to choose from and i am having a hard time deciding which would be best (they both cost the same).Oh yeah, and I have a crossbite. The first method would be to expand my upper arch, then have the braces and in the end either bond or put veneers on two of my teeth which are very small compared to my other teeth. The second teeth would be to extract one or two teeth from my lower jaw, then have the braces, then bond/veneer the two stubborn teeth! Let me know if anyone has any advice.

I plan to have the Inspire Ice braces on my upper but haven't decided whether to have them on my lower teeth or just have silver.

I can't wait to get started and finally start the process of achieving the smile i have always wanted. I have been wanting braces for a while now and now i am looking foward to my appointment next tuesday to go over the two options in greater detail and take x-rays and all that stuff.

Sorry this is kinda a long post! I have been reading a ton of different threads on here and it has been SO helpful. :D

Surgical Expansion?

#2 Post by Jamms »

Will you have to do the expansion surgically? I too have not got my braces yet and am still weighing options. My paletal expansion would be surgical, but I am told they can get me most of the way there with just braces alone, the Damon System. I am taking the gamble and not doing surgery. Good luck, I am excited for you.
