Metal Mouth Message Board

I've had my braces now for 1 week and continue to slur when I talk. Granted, it's not just the braces, I have two bite turbos behind my front teeth to help correct my bite. I'm tired of sounding like Sylvester the cat. How long will this last? Or am I just doomed to sounding silly for the duration of my treatment? I realize the bite turbos will not be around forever, but any advice? Please HELP!!!

I feel your pain. I have had a pallate expander in for about two months and I sounded the same way and plus all the extra saliva, not fun. But next week this time I will have this expander out and braces on!
