Cold teeth in Toronto

Hi guys. :D

I am glad I found this blog. My non-braces friends think I am being extra when I tell them my teeth hurt when the cold air touches it. Does anybody here have that kind of experience? Also, it hurts so much when I drink cold stuff... I feel like someone hit me in my mouth after I have a cold drink... so I have resorted to bringing straws everywere I go.

I am wondering if it's because my teeth were already set :?: (I am 23) why they are 'fighting' the braces? lol

Well that's part of my story. I look forward to interacting with you. :D

I find cold air and cold drinks painful too. And I am drinking hot tea with a straw so it doesn't stain the clear braces on top. I miss sipping my hot tea, so I am drinking hot water.... and using a lot of straws. The oold wash was painful when the brackets went on, more painful than the metal bands and wire which went on today.

Hi Lindy. For a while I was beginning to think I was crazy lol. I too have to drink warm/hot water  how refreshing.

I really hope this pain takes a break... it is really annoying. I hope I get a break when the weather gets warmer here in Toronto, because right now, I cant even smile when I am outside for fear of the -10 wind chill touching my teeth

Good luck.

COLD TEETH--paste worth a try

I have had braces since July and always had sensitive teeth--thought it got worse with my metal mouth....then in Dec my dental hyg. recommended a different paste called crest pro-health. At first I was like whatever--doesnt have that "clean clean" feeling but whatever. Now... it has been 4 months--I know my teeth are not as sensitive with cold and hot drinks---so I am a believer...give it a try!

no right after i brushed, they were buring really bad and it felt blistered and got red an inflamed
a few days later they peeled no stringy stuff.....i dont know to explain it
like when they put the cotton in your mouth at the dentist and it sticks to your gums, if they remove it without soaking it in water it will sorta remove piece of your gums and it will be raw and with pieces missing?
like an abrasion
and it hurt like hell for a couple days, i went back to my sensodyne the next morning

I know this is a little off-topic, but what is that stringy white stuff anyway?
