Excited Newbie

Hi Everyone! I'm so glad that I found this website. I'll be turning 29 on Monday and this is the firtst time I've ever had braces. I don't get my braces put on until April 7th, but this website has given me so much information that I actually can't wait to get them on. I have some major spaces that I've had for a long time that a previous dentist told me would close up on their own, well that was about 10 years ago and I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. Plus I have TMJ and I'm hoping some of the tightness will be relieved from the braces. Again I just want to say what a great site this is!

Welcome Chickadee. I know exactly how you feel. I go tomorrow for my x-rays, molds, etc. Then on the 15th of March I get braced. I am very excited. Once I found this site I was even more sure that this is what I want to do (finally).
It also helped that I took close-up pictures of my teeth. What a mess... I certainly won't be changing my mind after looking at them.

Thanks for welcoming me lilsisbet. I know what you mean about the pictures after I saw ones of my mouth, I knew for sure there was no turning back.

welcome chick, All will be fine, you obviously have been reading the postings on the site, so you know what to expect, and take some pain killers and get some rest, or try to keep busy... pick one! lol..... it'll be hard to believe when the time comes but it only gets better, at least from my experience so far it does!

I know what you mean! I took some pix this morning with lots of natural light shining on my pearly whites. YUCK!!!!! Why didn't someone TELL me they were heinous!
I'm tToo embarassed to open my mouth in public now. GEEZE.

We will be getting our braces on the same day!! My appointment is for 10 a.m. and it feels like the 7th will NEVER get here!!!!!!!

Ok I'm pissed
so I'm going to vent just a little. I was supposed to get my top braces on tomorrow but on Monday my boss asked me if I could reschedule my appointment so that he could keep his golf schedule
First of all he knew about this appointment and instead of being at work at 8am I would have gotten there at about 9:30 am so I'm really not missing that much work.
So I called my ortho office to reschedule and I find out they only put braces on on Thursday (mind you this is my bosses golfing day every week), but the ortho was coming in on Saturday for another appointment so they were able to get me in. So I'm hoping when I have to go in for the bottom braces I won't have any problems and maybe my bosses golf day will have to be put on hold. But anywho I will now be getting braced this Saturday and I'm still excited but was really ready for my appointment tomorrow.

That's awful! I would say to pray for rain, but you live in AZ so that's not likely!
I know how you get all worked up for this and then to have it delayed
I hope it works out for Saturday

Yeah I wish it would rain, but this Thursday its supposed to be up to 90. I could pray for high winds and that their ( I have 2 bosses) golf game sucks!! he he
