Question for anyone that has or had a Bite plate/splint

Ok so I got my bite plate in last Wednesday. By that night it kept popping off when ever I would talk.. kinda annoying. So I went in with my son for his tightening appt (who also has braces ) told them the problem and they reshaped it and upped the elastics from a 4mm to 6mm. Everything went fine from that point on. Now today I've noticed that my bite has changed positions on my left side. I can feel my left back molars biting all the way down and it hurts to bite, feels like massive pressure on my last molar(with plate in) and they are not touching all the way down on my right side. Should I be concerned or is this shift normal? I was going to call my ortho office today but they are closed today. I'm nervous because my ortho is afraid of open bite since my under bite is so sever and I refused to do the surgery. I just don't want more problems then what I had before I started on the plate. I don't want to have to deal with this for the next 6-8 months.

Thanks in advance for any help you may pass my way!!!

I've had a biteplate, but it was a rigid plastic one fitted to my upper teeth like a retainer, to keep me from grinding my teeth at night. I've only ever had to wear it at night but it doesn't come out when I talk, just sounds funny

I have had spints for many years. Are the prongs that go between your teeth tight enough? If my splint is loose I tend to unconsciously play with it with my tongue and move my jaw around. That makes everything worse. I have been known to flick it out in the night.

This is what my bite plate looks like. It's fitted to fit and sit right on my lower teeth so that my teeth cannot touch. It's has 2 eye hooks on both sides, I use the back eye hook with elastics that attach to buttons on the back insides of my second to last molars on each side of my mouth. Has anyone used this type of appliance? Mine do not have prongs that go between my teeth.

Mine looks like this one:

No metal, it's all acrylic (I think?) so it's pretty comfortable, aside from having 3-5mm of plastic between your teeth. It's fitted like an essix retainer on my upper teeth.

Mine as like Stars, a bit like a cut down Hawley-style retainer but mine was on my upper arch and pink rather than clear.

My bite used to feel off with it and well it's at different times during my treatment.
