Excess saliva or slime on teeth?

Does anyone else have a problem with over production of saliva or a build up of "slime" on thier front teeth?
I kinda slobbered before the braces, but it seems much worse now, and especially when I get something new put in my mouth, I litterally drool on myself, is this normal?
Also, since the beginning, I have noticed a build up of slime under my braces on the top front 4 teeth. This drives me crazy! It is especially bad in the morning when I wake up, but it tends to build up during the day too, and it's kinda hard to get rid of, I have to use the proxy brush to get it out. I think this might be because I am a mouth breather, but do other people have this problem too?
Any suggestions on how to control it?

Hey Stacey, I know exactly what you mean! I'm not sure what causes it or anything but nice to know i'm not the only dribbly, slimy fiend around here!

The slime might be plaque build-up - I'd make sure you're brushing it all away with an inter-dental brush

On the dribbling - I found it pretty bad for the first month or so, but then my mouth seemed to get used to it. That said, I still wake up with a wet pillow now and then

I don't notice the slime problem but I do have the excess saliva. Some days are worse than others. It seems that if I have to do alot of talking it is worse. At times I tend to spit when I talk.....I spend alot of time apologizing.

Thanks for the response everyone. I too am glad to know I am not the only one. I am thinking the slime thing may have to do with mouth breathing and smoking. It is worse in the morning, and takes quite a bit of effort to remove it. It's pretty gross, so I won't go into detail. Again, thanks I am not alone!

I think it's partially caused by all of the new stuff in your mouth! Your body doesn't know any better, and figures it needs to keep all of this "stuff" nice and moist like the rest of your mouth lol!
