Hi I'm new, and getting braces tomorrow - very scared!

Hi everyone, I'm Steph, 24, I'm really glad I found this forum :)

I'm due to be getting upper lingual braces tomorrow - am really worried that these are going to affect my speech, but my ortho says the brackets shes using are alot smaller than used to be used (1.5mm) and are much easier to adjust to than they used to be.

A week after that I'm getting Clarity braces on my lower teeth.

So nervewracking! I had braces when I was younger, on the NHS, but my orthodontist moved half away across the country bang smack in the middle of my treatment, and no other ortho would take me on, about 8 months after he left a hospital called Guys and St Thomas's saw me, just to remove the braces, (by which time they were in an awful state) so my dental treatment was never finished.

Anyhow, sorry for the tangent there. Thought I'd give a bit of background info. :D Hoping this experience of braces will be more positive than the last, especially as this is private dental work this time around...

Looking forward to chatting to you all

Steph :D
