Hey everyone! I've been a lurker for a while, during the decision process of getting braces. I'm 28 and after years of wanting and putting off the expense, I took the dive.
Of course, I went through (and am still) the "what did I dos?" I know it will get better, but it hurts!
I've been reading about bite wafers, can you purchase these at drug stores?
OW!- Day 1

Well I don't know about bite wafers, but I'm new enough in braces to remember the first 3 days are the WORST. Use wax and lots of it, where your mouth is the most raw, IBProfin is a friend, and so is peroxyl mouth rinse or even just a warm salt water solution, and I also found some releaf from a canker sore jell. (I had springs with my new brackets and they were fierce in the insides of my cheeks). That being said though, for me, within a couple weeks the wax was used at a bare minimum, and the pain a memory. A month in and I could see the results. Welcome to braces
