3 months in and still psyched

#1 Post by Autumn »

I got my braces on April 1st this year, so it's been almost 3 months and I can't believe how much my teeth have moved!!! They went from uber crowded 4 bicuspids removed and out front vampire fangs to almost being straight!

I'm 22 and decided to get braces this year because I got an internship this summer that is paying me well enough to afford what my parents couldn't, (they're quite proud of me) and I did it now because I knew once I was out of college (next spring) the chances of me getting braces for myself was next to nothing when I'd be thinking of things like new cars and houses. So I took the plunge, and with the exception of my first 3 days in absolute misery from the new braces and SPRINGS that were ripping up the inside of my mouth, it's actually been an exciting and worth while experience.

What I'm so excited for, and what pushed me to do it, is the fact that I've never in my life been able to eat corn off the cob, or an apple off the apple, or a sandwitch without all the meat comming out with my bite. My teeth could never get a clean cut, and even now, with the braces, they are starting to and it's exciting. Though that doesn't keep me from wanting to rip them out on occation, but this forum is nice in that it reminds me I'm not the only one sometimes cursing something I not only want, but paid a lot of money for :)
