having had initial impressions and xrays etc - have finally got my first serious ortho appointment to start treatment as a new patient on 21st August !!! feeling both excited and apprehensive about this - worried about the need for a couple of extractions at some point (before or during - not sure how they will plan this yet ?). Also, have been dwelling on what friends and colleagues will think when I have braces fitted as I remember the embarrasement as a teenager when I couldn't talk well with a removable appliance in those days (probably what has stopped me from getting this sorted over the years) - will just have to deal with it !
