Tri-Cities, Tennessee

#1 Post by ImFor24 »

28 year old GWM, happily committed here in Bristol (Tri-Cities) Tennessee. Less than 48 hours in braces, tops only so far, bottoms go on later. 24 months or so to go. I manage an 11 bed group home for the adult mentally retarded individuals. In my spare time, I build and maintain a couple of websites. Feel free to check them out. http://www.cafeofthepharaohs.com and http://peopleunited4animals.org

Welcome! How do you feel? For me the worst was the first 48 hours. I also have just the tops, have for a couple months now. Bottoms will go on next month and I will have braces for 2 years as well.
Kudos to you on your choice of career, your job is not always easy. Great websites too!

Hey heyangieh!!

Thanks! I'm feeling much better today. Got to eat a little bit better. Still a little tender and cautious. When you try to eat, does chewing tend to tug on your wire and make you feel like you're going to pull all of your other teeth out? Or is it just me??

Hmm, I guess it depends on what your eating. You'll get used to that feeling as you get used to everything braces. At first I was pretty bummed - I love to eat and now its just not as fun. But of course, I got used to it!

Just wanted to report that I'm doing much better. Still cautious, but not all that afraid of ripping my metal out. Also, I now have a bottom holding arch. This is insane - pure torture. My tongue cannot lay flat therefore it is so tired. Plus Dr. Bassham said I would have to wear it for a considerable amount of time.
