Hey everyone, first off please excuse my extremely tacky username! Anyways, let's get started. It all began in 2001 when i realized i had some problems wit my teeth that needed to be fixed. Many of my friends were in braces so i figured I just go to the orthodontist. i did alot of research and when i had my very first consult, my ortho was pretty impressed with my knowledge considering i was around 12. He said he wouldn't put full braces on until i had lost all of my teeth, but i still had four more to go. so i lost 2 in the middle of the 2002-2003 school yr and then i got one pulled in 2004. i still had another, which i had pulled in november or december . i set up a 2nd appt. because i was finally ready. my ortho looked around my mouth and did a panoramic xray. he determined i needed full metal braces for the maximum amount of 24 months to correct a slight overbite and spacing in the upper and lower arches. although he thinks it shouldnt be more than 1 yr, 1 1/2 yrs. so we set up an appt 4 March 16, 2005 for my records and banding. so i got my spacers that day,and they really didnt bother me, they just felt like meat stuck in my teeth. Then on the banding day we did impressions and pictures and the ceph xray. then came the banding. It did not take too much time, and i went with pastel pink ligs! After I got home, i discovered a bracket broke. So i am scheduled to get it fixed this coming wednesday because it was not bothering me and it was on a very back molar. so my braces never hurt..its been 8 days and they feel great! i have been eating the same foods, like normal, the only thing was the cut up cheeks on the 3rd day. i used zilactin-b, orajel mouth sore medicine, and listerine and the cuts healed up by the 5th day. My first adjustment is on April 19th, 2005 at 4:30 and i am gonna go wit powder blue ligs!

hello! i had my first adjustment today and it went great. i got a new wire and my first powerchain on my upper arch. my ligs are powder blue and they are ok, but i prefer the pink. my next adjustment is May 24 at 4:30. i think ill go either carribbean blue or light puprle next time. anyway check out my pictures at: http://www.ilovepink0501.blogspot.com.

Your smile is coming along wonderfully! You should try the light purple ligs and powerchains. They look really pretty! Keep posting pics!

Hello everyone, sorry its been so long. my 2nd adjustment was on May 24, but i couldnt update that day because i had final exams on the 25 and 26 and i was busy all this weekend. the update:

My ortho kept the same wires and i got a new powerchain on the top and regular ligs on the bottom.i will have pictures up within the next two days. and my adjustment, no pain, how strange! and the space between my two front teeth is almost completely gone, but my gums like are smushed there. i will have to get them cut, it looks pretty gross.

I had my third adjustment today and i got a new wire on the bottom, steel 16, something like that. on the top, same wire, but then i got these wire twisty things on my 4 front teeth to keep the spaces closed and regular ligs. so i have pink and yellow alternating on the top and a pink powerchain on the bottom. now i must say that i LOVE IT. hehe first time with 2 colors, i think its a cute combination. anyways i won't get a chance to post pics for a bit. ive decided to track my progress here. so here are some pictures from the beginning to my last (to date) adjustment on may 24.
