Getting Invisalign in 2 weeks!

Hello!

After years of considering, I've finally plunked money into a downpayment for Invisalign for my crossbite/crowded/midline shifted mouth. I had braces 15 years ago when I was a teenager so I'm very excited about the clear Invisalign and the fact they are removable for brushing and eating.

For everyone's knowledge (if you're curious because I sure was when first looking for info), my cost will be $5200 for 24 mo. treatment, including end retainer. This will be paid by a sizable downpayment and in-house interest-free financing through my orthodontist. Other quotes I had were $5800 and 7200, though the last one was a combo Invisalign upper/ceramic bracket lower.

Anyway, very excited about the treatment. It's a bit of a compromise as to fully fix my bite and jaw I would need surgery and that's NOT something I want to do. Sounds like a THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR.'s Box that I don't want to mess with... so my treatment will be to close a crossbite and straighten all around. I feel these results will not only make my mouth look better but also correct 80% of my anatomical issues.

Anyway, hello everyone! I'll probably be haunting the Invisalign forum alot.

Okay, maybe not 2 weeks. I went for a first round of impressions to be followed by Invisalign impressions next week. Then a 6 week wait assuming ClinCheck is immediately approved and THEN I'll be in Invisalign.

So many steps!

I did, however, pay my deposit today. Good grief.

I'm Invisaligned and on day 6 of Tray 1. 31U and 31L, I'm in Invisalign Teen (strange considering I'm in my 30s) but I have no complaints.

I don't have any attachments on my teeth (yet) but I do have about 8 attachment spaces already built in to the trays. One is on my top front tooth that I'm not too happy about but it's probably only noticeable to me.

I've been shooting for my 22 hrs a day for wear but it probably comes closer to 20-21. Sometimes dinner or breakfast with coffee can linger more than I plan. No complaints other than a little bit of blood from me either biting my lip at night or the edge of the tray scraping against my gumline. I haven't quite figured that one out but it wasn't painful.

As a plus, my dental and gum hygiene has improved about 200% because I'm not uber paranoid about food in my teeth at all times. I brush, soak my trays, floss and mouthwash at least 3 times a day.

An update!

I'm in 22U/22L of my 31/31 and there are good improvements. I don't have any attachments (and probably won't for the rest of my treatment) but I will be doing refinements when my first round runs out.

One of my uppers (incisor?) doesn't seem to want to descend enough to fit in with the rest of the teeth in my trays and my bite is off-canter. I knew these issues going in so I'm not surprised. My teeth are MUCH straighter making cleaning less of a hassle, and my upper palate has been pushed outward/widened.

I expect to have quite alot of refinements. And my insurance ended up paying for half of the treatment!

I'm almost done with week 1 of tray 2 of 34 upper, 34 lower. It took 5 weeks for my trays to arrive. No, pain or problems at all yet. I get my 13 attachments on the 30th, 8 attachments on upper and 5 on lower. I expect that to stir things up a bit. Welcome to the Invisalign club.
