Newbie - Braced today!

Hey! At 29, I decided to take the plunge and fix the teeth that have always bothered me. I had 2 upper pre-molars extracted last Monday, spacers put in last Wednesday and was braced today with clear uppers, metal lowers. Still early days, but so far the spacers were a hundred times more painful than the braces (touch wood). My biggest annoyance is the fact that my molars dont touch anymore. My top front teeth rest on the bottom brackets, leaving a large space between my molars. Did anyone else experience this? Hoping it will fix itself soon, eating has become very interesting

Hi Kylz, Congrats on taking the plunge. I too had braces put on, on Tuesday and I have the same issue. My ortho has put to gobs of stuff on my molars to stop my front top teeth sitting on my lower brackets and now my teeth dont touch and I have no idea how to chew! I hope to goodness this sorts itself out otherwise I am going to be eating baby food with my 5 month old for a while yet!

Don't worry it just sorts its way out. I don't know how. My molars didn't touch for about a week. Then I just got used to it and I eat normal now. Don't know how it adjusts it just does. Oh yeah and congrats on the start of your journey.
