Melissa, 22 Full Braces

#1 Post by BracefaceMelissa »

Hello everyone,

My name is Melissa, I am 22 years old and I got braces yesterday. I need braces for a total of 14 months on both my top and bottom teeth.

For my top teeth my front 4 teeth are slightly bucked and I have gaps in my teeth, for my bottom teeth to fix a few of my teeth that are crooked.

I decided to go with the clear ceramic brackets on both my top and bottom teeth and with coated white archwires, which makes them blend in making them practically invisible.

Considering I work in the marketing department for a midsized company and have to talk to people face to face as well as present presentations, braces that were hardly noticeable were a must.

I was also surprised at how comfortable they are, they are much smoother then I expected which is good.

Anyone, I just found the site and wanted to say hello.

I need to brush my teeth/braces and go to bed so I can be well rested for work. I have a presentation tomorrow so I need to be on my A-Game

Welcome Melissa!

Congratulations on the braces -- I was also surprised at how smooth they feel (I only have ceramic tops at this point). I've only had mine for about a week now. They do take a little getting used to but I've been relieved to find out they aren't so bad. Just a bit tender on my front teeth.

Good luck on your presentation and keep us updated :D

Well, its been over a week and so far they are doing well. I am amazed how few people have actually noticed them.

I also noticed that I shouldnt post at 12 midnight because my grammer is horrible ;)

The presentation went well by the way

Hey again Melissa!

Good to hear you're adjusting well to your braces (and kudos on the presentation well done). I think I'm surprised too at how many people don't seem to notice. I also expected more staring or funny glances but so far none of that has happened.

Keep us updated on your progress, and no worries about the grammer 8)
