I'm new here - I'm 30 and just got my damons (clear on top and metal bottom) put on yesterday. Hope they don't stain too bad because I like my coffee.

I'm the mother of a toddler and work in a pretty visible, professional setting. I'm excited to finally have braces to fix my teeth. My husband didn't think they were that bad and kind of hates the braces, but my teeth have bothered me for years.

MES1279, it sucks that you don't have much support from your husband - but well done for going ahead and doing what you feel you need to do for yourself When your toddler grows up you'll have a good set of straight teeth to help inspire him/her to take good care of their own too.

I think I was just venting a bit about the reaction I got from my husband - he IS supportive, just a little weirded out by the braces. I can't say I blame him - I'm talking funny, drooling, and kind of a mess right now!

It won't be long now before you are both used to them and you'll start forgetting you've got them

Things are going well (2 weeks in now). Even my daughter isn't afraid of them anymore. I *think* I'm starting to see progress but with as much time I spend staring at my mouth, it's hard to tell! I wish I had taken some photos at the outset. They have some at the ortho's office.
