Welcome preciouskiss825!

I will be 26 in one month and 3 days, and was just braced a month ago! I am due for my first adjustment in a week. I'd say for the most part I have had an easy time. My story is in my signature.

Hi and thank you Crystal.

I don't have an exact date yet, I think it should be the first week in December. Right now I am in spacers, tomorrow I am going to get my molar bands installed and I am also getting a mold done for my nance appliance. My oath said it takes about two weeks for the nance to be ready. And after that i will need to get 4 extractions (first premolars on top, second premolars on the bottom). A week after extractions I can get the braces in stalled (i hear it's pretty painful to eat, so I'm think I should schedule to get them in after Thanksgiving, lol).

I am going to get ceramic brackets on top and metal on the bottom. But I won't have the bottom put on for about four months after the top, they don't need as much work.

Hello fleur26 and NervousNewbie, and thanks for the welcome.

I just came back from an appointment. Due to a nickel allergy, I will not be getting molar bands at all, so I went through the pain for nothing. I did get an impression for my appliance (which they decided to do a TP bar, instead on the nance). In two weeks I go back to get that installed along with the ceramic brackets, then I can get the extractions.

Oh wow, that is crazy you had to suffer through the spacers for nothing! Poor thing! I have ceramics on the top and bottom as well.

Not at all, and I drink a lot of tomato juice! I wear In-Ovation C's, which are self litigating meaning I don't have the ligs. Though I've read on this board before that some people tend to feel like the ceramics make their teeth look a little more yellow, and sometimes I agree with that as well.

Thanks NervousNewbie!

I will be getting traditional braces, with ligatures. I think that's what people have staining problems with. But thanks for the info.

Well, I have about a week and a half until I get the tp bar and brackets, so I will keep you all updated.

So this coming Wednesday, I will officially be braced. I'm starting to get nervous. I will be getting my TP bar put in along with the brackets. I'm not sure if i will be getting my put in too.

I know I will have a lisp from the TP bar,any tips to overcome that?
