Finally got around to joining!
My name is Samantha from Sheffield, UK.
I initially had braces when I was a teenager however at that time, all I wanted was the thing off. I pleaded with my orthodontist to leave my teeth alone as much as possible, not extractions, no headgear and even went as far as removing this horrible palatal arch they attached, only to have it reattached the next day. The day I got it off and got my retainers I chucked them in a drawer and forgot about them.
A few years later I decided that by teeth were getting asymmetrical and then about a year before the current treatment I was tremendously upset. I wouldn't talk without covering my mouth as they had drifted that much that my front teeth stick out tremendously. Then decided to take the plunge and have braces again, three months before turning 21.
Went to the same practice as they are well regarded in the area and had the ceramic braces fitted on 25 January earlier this year. I am due to have my first premolars removed on 23 June (which is not long now!) and I am terrified at the thought of it however quite excited as it is the point of no return!

Re: Hey
Hello I'm also from the UK, but down south in Berkshire
Congrats on taking the plunge... Shame you had to do it a second time but that seems quite common on here. You know you've made the right decision. There's nothing like having nice teeth to prove the British stereotype wrong. I remember an interview with Ricky Gervais where an American interviewer asked about the prosthetic teeth he wore in Ghost Town. Then Ricky smiled and showed his teeth... The interviewer was embarrassed because he had no idea they were his real teeth.
Good luck
