Jet in Florida

#1 Post by Jetgirl »

Hello!

My name is Jet. I'm 24 years old and I live in Florida. I've had braces for over a year now. I first found archwired in the weeks before I got them on, and found it to be a great resource. I've interacted with many of you on the old boards, but haven't been around so much lately. Hopefully I can spend some more time here sharing information and motivation.

Here's a picture of my smile before beginning orthodontic treatment:

Here's a more recent picture showing my progress. This was seven months in:

I'm very excited about my progress, and hopefully will be out of braces by June of next year.

Wow, your teeth look great!

Can't wait until I'm in your position!

I hope you're surviving the hurricane onslaught down there. :(

Hi Guys! I have at least 2 more years with braces. I can't wait to be able to post before and after photos. I was very self conscience when I got my braces on (which were just the top ones at first). I went to work and some people just clammed up around me. Weird, they didn't know what to say, so they avoided me. My boss told really bad jokes instead. "Have you been to the airport lately?" "How did you get through the metal detector?"

(Har Har)

The people that acted very excited about my braces and acknowledged them right off turned out to be people who had braces themselves when they were younger. They all had pretty teeth too! They all said, "You'll be so glad when you get them off, how nice your teeth will be!" I sure hope so!
