Wire popped out, what do I do??

Hello again, I got my braces (metal) on upper teeth last week, first problem was that the bracket popped off twice. He will put a new bracket there this week which is attached to a band that goes around the tooth, hope he can fit it because the tooth is very small in length. Anyway, new problem, last night I put on a pile of wax where the un bracketed tooth is because the flesh of my cheek was inprinted with the wire and very sore while I slept. I took the wax off this morning and seemed fine but later on noticed the wire was out of the last bracket. The unbracketed tooth is next to the last molar which the wire finishes on.

I got the wire back in, but several hours later, it's out again! Both times I had to bend the wire to push it through the hole as I don't know how to do it any other way. My worry is, does this affect treatment? I didn't really have any feeling of pressure, even from the start there wasn't much, but now there is absolutely no pressure, it doesn't even feel like I have any braces on, well apart from the fact that I have a lumpy mouth of metal

Annie, I would just call your ortho in the morning. More than likely, I would think they would try to get you in in the next day or two. Good luck!

The first wires that go in are very springy and have shape memory so I wouldn't worry too much about what you are doing to get the wire back into the tube.

However, teeth that don't have brackets on aren't moving, so the bracket being broken is more of an issue for treatment. The good news is that your next appointment is this week, so your doctor can get the bracket back on that tooth and you'll be back in business.
