Hi everyone!
I've finally decided to get braces (at 26!), I am both excited and afraid.
Excited that I can finally fix my teeth but afraid because of all of the uncertainties.
I've went to a consultation and was told that I need to extract 4 teeth and will need to have braces for 2 to 3 years.
I'm a bit scared of the extraction (I hope it won't hurt that much).
But I'm glad that I found a forum where I can get help and support

Another newbie here and the same age too! Not got anything myself yet, just trying to gauge whether jaw surgery is the right option for me.

Hey!
I'm another new member. I'm 27 (28 in a few months) and I've had braces since June. Glad to see I'm not the only one in my twenties!

Hi jadewyt!
I am 25 years old and just got braces almost a month ago (August 6). I turn 26 in February. It was definitely a hard decision at first because I was scared but I am so glad I got braces. It is exciting to see how my teeth are slowly straightening out.
Keep us updated on how your braces journey goes

I am 34 yrs old and just got the bottom ones on. Due to get the top ones on the 24th.
I just got two teeth out yesterday premolars, and am due to get another one out next week on the opposite side. TBH the extractions werent too bad. I am tender but wouldnt say in pain much. I have only taken one solphadine since I got it done. I might take one now going to bed as I want to make sure I sleep as I was up most of last night but that was due to crying baby and not my teeth!
Best of luck

Hey everyone! I am 26 too and get my braces on Thursday. I have severe crowding on my bottom teeth and was surprised none of my teeth had to be yanked out. I feel for anyone having to have teeth pulled. All 4 of my wisdom came out at once and healed up fast and easy.
So excited for this forum. I am so nervous and oh sooo excited.

Hey Im 34 and I just got braces. Got three extractions, honestly they are not as bad as you think they will be. They heel pretty fast as long as theres no complications (ie dry socket)
I have my bottom ones on a month now and they are grand. Top ones just over a week. Fine too. Ive alot of elastics in my mouth to try and close the gaps where the extractions were and I have a palate expander on the top that I am trying to get used to. They are only on since Friday. Still a bit uncomfortable
You can actually see a small difference in my teeth already. Keep repeating to myself its going to be all worth it

Hi I'm also beginning the journey at 26. I was also told I need a couple of teeth out, baby teeth, but I was told that should make room for me to keep my wisdom teeth so hopefully thats the case.
